The following information is about ADMET.
ADMET Defined
ADME/toxicology. An ideal drug candidate must have an acceptable balance of potency, selectivity, pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity. Poor pharmacokinetics and toxicity of candidate compounds is a primary cause of costly late stage failures in drug development. It is imperative that these properties be considered as early as possible and integrated throughout drug discovery and development to enable early attrition of candidate compounds and prevent unnecessary expenditure of time and money. New assays and systems aimed at early ADME-Tox prediction are increasingly making their presence felt in drug discovery and development.
